WED – JR Photographer 13 – 17 yrs (Winter 2021)
In this course students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Students can expect to learn how to make a correct exposure, shoot in challenging lighting situations, make strong compositions. This course will also include some photography hacks. Student will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical photography knowledge.
This term students will explore Product Photography and Food Photography. We will cover topics including composition and styling, camera setting and angles, studio set ups, colours theory, light theory and lighting tips.

WED – JR Documentarian 12 – 17 yrs (Winter 2021)
Documentaries involve media devices, content, form, and production strategies in order to address the creative, ethical, and conceptual problems and choices in daily life. Due to the complex nature of documentary practice we will only accept students at least 12 years of age.
Student will be guided through the fundamental aspects of documentary filmmaking, including researching skills and camera angles, footage selection as well as editing. Students are encouraged to creates a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience.

Podcast is no doubt a new yet powerful platform to tell your story. There were 48 million weekly podcast listeners in 2018, according to Statista data. This audience is expected to grow to 115 million by 2021. Now is the time to start your own podcast.
Our JR Podcaster course is designed for storytellers who would like to work behind the camera, yet maintain creative control over their stories.
Students will be guided through the fundamental aspects of Fiction Storytelling Podcast, including podcast scriptwriting, voice coaching, sound recording, music and sound effects selections as well as audio editing. We encourage our young podcasters to create a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience. Participants are expected to complete and publish their original piece of audio drama by the end of the course. Join us and let your voice be heard!

Family Time for 4 Persons
A positive home requires parents to set and uphold rules. In a healthy household, slights and misbehaviors are readily addressed, and boundaries are clear and consistent, all of which help avoid disharmony in the long term. Sometimes all that teaching and guiding can put the fun in the back seat of the car. Sometimes it can leave it accidentally at the gas station and we have to make a u turn to go back and pick it up. Its tough being a parent. But at Jr Art Lab we know you’re a fun guy/gal too right.
Sometimes spending a bit of time making creative projects together is just what we need to heal and rekindle the joy we have for our family members. Stepping out of the drivers seat and letting one of our instructors help you both learn something new and creative can be great fun for you all.
You might like to paint a portrait of each other and have them printed on T-shirt memories. You might like to sculpt a cookie cutter to use when you bake cookies together at home. Perhaps a walk through the ravine photographing all the species of birds with our instructor showing you the magic hidden in that DSLR you want to get around to learning about.
Family time can take many shapes and we are here to help you figure it out. If your not sure what kind of activity you might like we are just a phone call away.
