Video Editing skills have never been so practical and popular. Students who enroll in this LIVE online workshop will be learning the Language of Editing, editing techniques, colour correction and more. Participants will be working on the Edit Workspace to create videos with their own styles.

We will be using free stock images and video footage, so don’t worry if you don’t have a camera or video recording device.

Week 8 ~ Photo Composites 101 ( Aug 17-21 )( 13-17 yrs )
In this Photo Composite workshop, we will cover topics such as adjustment of brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, cropping and other image attributes. We will also learn how to composite photos. Students are expected to complete several photo editing projects for their digital portfolio by the end of the course.
In this workshop, we will use a Free and Open Source Image Editor – GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP). It is a cross-platform image editor available for GNU/Linux, OS X, Windows and more operating systems. Check out https://www.gimp.org/ to learn more about the software.

This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Weather The Storm VFX. In this course we will learn some basic visual effects in DaVinci Resolve 16. Visual Effects (abbreviated VFX) is the process by which digital imagery is created to manipulate or enhance real world footage that has been filmed with a video camera. We will create a series of weather effects including Fog, Lightning, Rain, Storm and Rainbow effects. Spring weather can be unpredictable, join us and learn to carry your own weather!

Motion graphics are pieces of animation or digital footage which create the illusion of motion or rotation. We will create a series of projects including Star Wars Lightsaber effects (May the 4th be with you.), neon text animation and neon scribble animation.

LIVE Online Workshop ~ Create Cinemagraphs (Moving Pictures) (April 27- May 1)

This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Create Cinemagraphs. Cinemagraphs are a magical hybrid of photography and video. It’s also called moving pictures. In a cinemagraph, one portion of the image is animated while the rest remains still. In this course we will learn some basic photo editing skills in PhotoPea. We then proceed to animating the photos in the video editing software DaVinci Resolve. Join us and bring your photos to life.
We will use a FREE online Photo Editor – Photopea. It is an user-friendly, Photoshop alternative application. Check out https://www.photopea.com/ to learn more about the program. We will also be using stock images for this course, so please do not worry if you don’t have a camera to take photos.
