Jul 25 – 29 ~ Silent Film + Sound Effects
In this camp, we will bring back the age of the Silent Film! Students will learn to write a short script and work both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. And…that’s not all! Campers will learn dubbing and sound effects (foley) in the second half of the camp. Adding the lines and all kinds of sounds into the movie is so much fun. Let’s turn the silent film into a talking picture/talkie.

Aug 15 – 19 ~ Photo Painter
If you are looking for a creative way to enhance the quality of your photos, this camp is for you!
Photo Illustration is a general term which refers to the idea of taking a photograph and paint on it using digital art software. This art form is often used in advertising, marketing, book cover art, and even journalism. Campers will learn some basic photography techniques. Using the information that a photo provides, we can come up with a fun story that starts with what’s already in the picture. After visualizing and sketching those initial ideas, we will then move on to creating an illustration. Understanding the best way to add illustrations to your photographs will open up a world of possibilities for your artwork.
Campers are strongly recommended to bring an iPad or tablet with photo taking function. Please also make sure that the device is able to download apps for educational purpose. Wifi will be provided in the studio.

Aug 8 – 12 ~ Smartphone Video
Recording video with your smartphone is more complicated than just avoiding Vertical Video Syndrome. In this camp we will start the course with basic, storytelling. Students will then work together to shoot, act and edit their own productions. Students will explore creative filming styles, including time-lapse, stop motion as well as green screen. Editing Apps will be introduced for editing and digital effects.
Students will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical film knowledge, through working both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. It’s also a great chance to improve teamwork and communication skills.
Campers MUST bring a Smartphone(iOS or Android operating system) or iPad with video recording function. Please also make sure that the device is able to download apps for educational purpose. Wifi will be provided in the studio.

WED – JR Documentarian 12 – 17 yrs (Winter 2022)
In 2021, My Octopus Teacher won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, making a win for Netflix in that category for the second year in a row and third time in the last four years. When it comes to producing documentaries, Netflix is a force to be reckoned with. After watching a Netflix documentary, you start to notice a similar style that carries through each one.
This term we will look into the magic components behind Netflix documentaries. And that’s not all, we are going to produce our very own NETFLIX style documentary. Student will be guided through the fundamental aspects of documentary filmmaking, including researching skills and camera angles, footage selection as well as editing. Students are encouraged to creates a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience.
Due to the complex nature of documentary practice we will only accept students at least 12 years of age.
SAT – ONLINE JR Video Editor (Spring 2022)
Video Editing skills have never been so practical and popular. Students who enrol in this LIVE online workshop will be learning the Language of Editing, editing techniques, colour correction and more. Participants will be working on DaVinci Resolve 17 to create videos with their own styles.
DaVinci Resolve is a Hollywood-grade video editor. It’s also free to download and cross-platform. Check out https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/ to learn more about the software.
We will be using free stock images and video footage, so don’t worry if you don’t have a camera or video recording device. This is an online workshop. Enjoy learning from the comfort of your own home.
SAT – ONLINE JR Photographer (Spring 2022)
In this program students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Students can expect to learn how to make a correct exposure, shoot in challenging lighting situations, make strong compositions. This course will also include some photography hacks. Student will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical photography knowledge.
Online learning doesn’t mean we can’t stay creative when confined to our homes. Students will learn to capture great images in otherwise ordinary subjects. We will polish our eyes for composition, thinking outside the box and taking creative photos, all from the comfort of your home.
NB. This is an online workshop. Enjoy learning from the comfort of your own home. To join our online JR Photographer workshop, students must have a camera with manual settings.

In this program students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Their stunning colors, intricate detail and amazing variety mean you’ll never get bored of photographing these natural wonders. But without the right light and composition. it’s difficult to show the true beauty of your subject.
Our Jr Photographers will also study Portrait Photography. Portrait photography is the art of capturing the inherent character of your subject within a photograph. Great portrait photography is a result of combining the right technique with an artist’s expression.
