SUN – JR Designer 8 – 12 yrs (Winter 2019)

In this 9 week term students will design and author their own children book or graphic novel.

During the first few weeks we will focus on narrative and character development while learning how to use the design tools to create layouts and artworks. These small projects should make students familiar with the interface and online resources. We will learn how to combine pixel and vector graphics as only Affinity Designer knows how!

Options for professional printing and binding will be presented to parents after completion of the projects should you wish to make a timeless memory for your home library. You may even wish to send your book out to publishers and see if you get any bites.

Students work between Affinity Designer and Autodesk Sketchbook.

Projects will take 1 – 2 weeks each. After the first 5 weeks students will be encouraged to embark on their own concept artwork. Students will be guided through the research and concept development phases for their final work.

All final works will be exhibited in our end of semester gallery event for parents and community.

NB: There will be an additional cost for the product printing. A full list of items will be made available for parents with associated printing costs.
