In this workshop we will learn how to make our own handwritten letters and typographic elements in design. Working in www.sketchbook.com we will create some beautiful hand written lettering with our name or a meaningful phrase we might like to print out. Having lovely quotes around we spent time making is a great way to remind us of the behaviour modifications we want to make in our daily lives.
Time permitting we will then move to an online web based vector creating tool to convert out artwork in to scalable vector graphics (SVG) a really useful skill for any age.. www.vectr.com
LIVE Online Workshop ~ Animated Illustrations (Mar 30- April 3)
Want to acquire some skill that will help you weather the storm? Ever dreamt of a life that isn’t affected by COVID-19 Pandemic? This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Animated Illustrations will chill you right out.
In this workshop we will learn how to make and animate simple illustrations to create that wow factor when sharing our artwork online. Adding simple little animations to a pattern will show us the process on the first day and then we will make our own little narrative illustration of ourself with our favourite pet or creature. This workshop will be made using free software www.sketchbook.com so you don’t have to have any special equipment to join in.

This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Podcast Authoring. In this LIVE online workshops, we will cover topics such as podcast scriptwriting, voice coaching, sound recording, music and sound effects selections, audio editing and more. Students are expected to complete their original piece of audio drama by the end of this 5 day course.
In this worshop, we will use a FREE and cross-platform audio software – Audacity. It is an user-friendly, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X and other operating systems. Check out https://www.audacityteam.org/ to learn more about the software.

In this class we will look at how we can make digital water-colours using Sketchbook, a free app made by Autodesk. www.sketchbook.com
We will have a look at adding a special brush pack that simulates the way watercolours work. We will also have a look at some of the beautiful work by Hayao Miyazaki and the amazing artists at studio Ghibli. This will be a fun and exploitative adventure into digital painting. We will also have little at home assignments you can do during your own time that we are sure you will enjoy and help expand your visual library.

This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Video Editing. DaVinci Resolve 16 (and 15) is a Hollywood-grade video editor. It’s also free to download and cross-platform. Student who enroll in this LIVE online workshop will be learning the Language of Editing, editing techniques, colour correction and more. We will be using free stock video footages, so don’t worry if you don’t have any video recording devices.

TUE – Video Marketing (Apr 2020)
Everything costs when running your own business, so why pay others to make your promotional video when you can do it yourself? Join us and learn to write your business story, then turn it into a unique video. Did I mention that you can even shoot and edit the video on your phone?
Our class will run for 6 weeks and cover a variety of video styles.
THU – Adult Beginners Photography Class (Apr 2020)
Our beginner digital photography course is designed to help you make full use of your digital cameras. You will learn camera settings, shutter speeds, apertures, lighting and composition. Photography tricks will also be covered in this course in order to let you shine on social media. During the course, you’ll complete a series of photo projects that let you utilize your newly developed skills and knowledge.
Your instructor will guide you in this 6 week course, reviewing your photos and helping you improve. One thing for sure, this course will change the way you see the world.

We will look at some simple anatomy of manga humans and also at digital watercolour backgrounds. If you love films like Totoro, Spirited Away, Frozen, Lion King, or Aladin this will be a fun term to learn about their worlds and arts.
