WED – JR Filmmaker 12 – 17 yrs (Spring 2020)
In this term students will focus on the fundamental aspects of filmmaking, including script writing, basic camera angles and acting. The course will be equally divided into theory classes as well as production phrase. Students will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical film knowledge, through working both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Last but not least, students will learn how to work in a film crew.
All final productions will be uploaded to the student’s YouTube Channel as well as JR Art Lab YouTube channel.

Documentaries involve media devices, content, form, and production strategies in order to address the creative, ethical, and conceptual problems and choices in daily life. Due to the complex nature of documentary practice we will only accept students at least 12 years of age.
Student will be guided through the fundamental aspects of documentary filmmaking, including researching skills and camera angles, footage selection as well as editing. Students are encouraged to creates a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience.

Trash Panda Workshop ~ Sun 16th Feb
Looking for family activities for Family Day long weekend? Trash Panda Workshop is ideal for you. In this two hour workshop we will introduce the participants to digital painting concepts, software and tools. We choose Raccoon as our subject matter because Toronto is the Raccoon capital of the world!
All equipment will be supplied and participants will each have their own laptop and graphics tablet device to create with. After finishing the painting, everyone will have their work printed onto an aluminum bottle of their choice (please see poster). This is Included in the workshop price.

In this 2 part digital art workshop we will introduce the students to digital painting concepts, software and tools. Inspired by the Group of Seven style we will compose a landscape artwork while learning digital painting skills. All equipment will be supplied and students will each have their own laptop and graphics tablet device to create with.
After finishing the painting in week 2 of the workshop, students will have their work printed onto a 20 x 16″ canvas or similar priced product with digital printing technology. This is Included in the workshop price.

WED- Narrative Filmmaking (Feb 2020)
In this Narrative Filmmaking crash course students will learn to write, plan, shoot and edit a short film. After this four week workshop, participants will take their ideas from script to screen, growing and honing filmmaking skills. This course is ideal for movie-lovers who want to make their own pictures,or experienced writers who want to turn their writings into movies, or people who simply want to produce home videos.
NB. Instructor will not film students’ movies.
TUE – Video Marketing (Feb 2020)
Everything costs when running your own business, so why pay others to make your promotional video when you can do it yourself? Join us and learn to write your business story, then turn it into a unique video. Did I mention that you can even shoot and edit the video on your phone?
Our class will run for 6 weeks and cover a variety of video styles.
THU – Adult Beginners Photography Class (Feb 2020)
Our beginner digital photography course is designed to help you make full use of your digital cameras. You will learn camera settings, shutter speeds, apertures, lighting and composition. Photography tricks will also be covered in this course in order to let you shine on social media. During the course, you’ll complete a series of photo projects that let you utilize your newly developed skills and knowledge.
Your instructor will guide you in this 6 week course, reviewing your photos and helping you improve. One thing for sure, this course will change the way you see the world.
