LIVE Online Workshop ~ Style Me Photo Editing (April 20-24)
Want to acquire some skill that will help you weather the storm? Ever dreamt of a life that isn’t affected by COVID-19 Pandemic? This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Portrait Photo Editing. In this workshop, we will create a series of unique self-portraits using various graphic styles, including Caricature, Cartoon, Pop out effects and more.
We will use a Free and Open Source Image Editor – GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP). It is a cross-platform image editor available for GNU/Linux, OS X, Windows and more operating systems. Check out https://www.gimp.org/ to learn more about the software.
NB: If you would like to edit your own portraits, please have them ready before class. Portraits with neutral backgrounds are highly recommended. Don’t worry if you don’t have a camera, we will download some loyalty free portraits for you to practice.
LIVE Online Workshop ~ Motion Graphics in DaVinci Resolve (April 13-17)
Want to acquire some skill that will help you weather the storm? Ever dreamt of a life that isn’t affected by COVID-19 Pandemic? This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Motion Graphics. Motion graphics are pieces of animation or digital footage which create the illusion of motion or rotation, and are usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. In this course we will learn some basic motion graphics in DaVinci Resolve, including Animated Titles, Cartoon Graphics and Image 3D Particle Effect.
DaVinci Resolve 16 (and 15) is a Hollywood-grade video editor. It’s also free to download and cross-platform. Students who enroll in this LIVE online workshop will be working on the Fusion feature to create their own motion graphics. We will be using free stock images and video footage, so don’t worry if you don’t have a camera or video recording device.

In this LIVE online workshops, we will cover topics such as adjustment of brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, cropping and other image attributes. We will also learn how to composite photos. Students are expected to complete several photo editing projects for their digital portfolio by the end of this 5 day course.
In this workshop, we will use a FREE online Photo Editor – Photopea. It is an user-friendly, Photoshop alternative application. Check out https://www.photopea.com/ to learn more about the program. We will also be using stock images for this course, so please do not worry if you don’t have a camera to take photos.

This is the digital skill you need to get you through more unforeseeable events in the future – Podcast Authoring. In this LIVE online workshops, we will cover topics such as podcast scriptwriting, voice coaching, sound recording, music and sound effects selections, audio editing and more. Students are expected to complete their original piece of audio drama by the end of this 5 day course.
In this worshop, we will use a FREE and cross-platform audio software – Audacity. It is an user-friendly, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X and other operating systems. Check out https://www.audacityteam.org/ to learn more about the software.

TUE – Video Marketing (Apr 2020)
Everything costs when running your own business, so why pay others to make your promotional video when you can do it yourself? Join us and learn to write your business story, then turn it into a unique video. Did I mention that you can even shoot and edit the video on your phone?
Our class will run for 6 weeks and cover a variety of video styles.
THU – Adult Beginners Photography Class (Apr 2020)
Our beginner digital photography course is designed to help you make full use of your digital cameras. You will learn camera settings, shutter speeds, apertures, lighting and composition. Photography tricks will also be covered in this course in order to let you shine on social media. During the course, you’ll complete a series of photo projects that let you utilize your newly developed skills and knowledge.
Your instructor will guide you in this 6 week course, reviewing your photos and helping you improve. One thing for sure, this course will change the way you see the world.
SUN – JR Photographer 8 – 12 yrs (Spring 2020)
In this term students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Students can expect to learn how to make a correct exposure, shoot in challenging lighting situations, make strong compositions. This course will also include some photography hacks. Student will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical photography knowledge.
In conjunction with local businesses, this term we will do On-location Photography. Students will shoot for ‘clients’ at their shops. All photos will be given to shop owners for social media posts/marketing purpose. As Spring approaches, Natural Photography will also be included in this term. Let’s be out and about!
