WED – JR Video Editor 8+ (BEGINNER) (Spring 2023)
The demand for video editing skills has skyrocketed in recent times. In this introductory course, learners will become familiar with the basics of editing and gain a mastery of editing techniques, color correction, and more. The course focuses on the use of DaVinci Resolve 18 as the primary editing tool, empowering students to create visually appealing videos with their own unique style.

THU – JR Photographer 13 – 17 yrs (Winter 2023)
In this term students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Students can expect to learn how to make a correct exposure, shoot in challenging lighting situations, make strong compositions. This course will also include some photography hacks. Student will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical photography knowledge.
As winter approaches, this term will explore Snow Photography. Let’s summon the magic of winter wonderland. Winter is also an ideal time to shoot minimalist photography. Last but not least, we will use Abstract Photography as a method to express ideas and emotions.

MON – JR Photographer 8 – 12 yrs (Fall 2022)
In this term students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. As Fall approaches, this term will explore Natural Photography, with a focus on Fall colours. We will also bring back our iconic Halloween photoshoot and Christmas Lights photography.

FRI – JR Documentarian 12 – 17 yrs (Spring 2023)
Documentaries provide a powerful platform to address various creative, ethical, and conceptual issues in daily life through the use of media devices, content, form, and production strategies. This term, students will have the opportunity to write their very own documentary, and create a captivating trailer to showcase their work.
The course will guide students through the fundamental aspects of documentary filmmaking, including essential research skills, camera techniques, footage selection, and editing. Through this hands-on experience, students will have the chance to develop their own unique story, viewpoint, message, or experience, showcasing their creativity and storytelling abilities.
Additionally, with the rapid advancements in AI technology, students will have the opportunity to explore how artificial intelligence can be utilized in the editing process to streamline their workflow and elevate the quality of their final product.
To ensure a comprehensive and challenging learning experience, this course is only available to students aged 12 years and above.

SAT – JR Video Editor 8+ (INTERMEDIATE) (Winter 2023)
Video Editing skills have never been so practical and popular. To take part in this Intermediate Level course, students are expected to have learnt the basics of video editing, including editing techniques, colour correction. This term, participants will be working on DaVinci Resolve 18 to create videos with their own styles. We will focus on Fusion workspace to create different kinds of Visual Effects.

FRI – JR Screenwriter 8 – 12 yrs (Winter 2023)
This course is designed to replicate the scriptwriting process of the film industry. Students will learn how to write, produce and edit for film and television across different genres. The online classrooms are styled after industry writing rooms with table-reads. This course will also cover knowledge including cinematography and storyboarding.
Table-read process will be recorded and uploaded to JR Art Lab YouTube channel.

SAT – JR Podcaster 10+ yrs (Winter 2023)
Our JR Podcaster course is designed for storytellers who would like to work behind the camera, yet maintain creative control over their stories.
There are plenty of resources about the technical aspects of making a podcast: best microphones and recorders etc. But very few focus on the creative part and the process of putting it together.
Students will be guided through the fundamental aspects of Fiction Storytelling Podcast, including podcast scriptwriting, voice coaching, sound recording, music and sound effects selections as well as audio editing. We encourage our young podcasters to create a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience. Participants are expected to complete and publish their original piece of audio drama by the end of the course. Join us and let your voice be heard!
