SUN – JR Filmmaker 8 – 12 yrs (Winter 2022)
In this course students will learn the fundamental aspects of filmmaking, including script writing, basic camera angles and acting. Student will work in a group setting and focus on one particular genre for their final script.
Students will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical film knowledge, through working both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Last but not least, students will learn how to work in a film crew.
All final productions will be uploaded to the student’s YouTube Channel as well as JR Art Lab YouTube channel.

Our JR Podcaster course is designed for storytellers who would like to work behind the camera, yet maintain creative control over their stories.
Students will be guided through the fundamental aspects of Fiction Storytelling Podcast, including podcast scriptwriting, voice coaching, sound recording, music and sound effects selections as well as audio editing. We encourage our young podcasters to create a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience. Participants are expected to complete and publish their original piece of audio drama by the end of the course. Join us and let your voice be heard!

WED – JR Documentarian 12 – 17 yrs (Winter 2022)
Documentaries involve media devices, content, form, and production strategies in order to address the creative, ethical, and conceptual problems and choices in daily life. Due to the complex nature of documentary practice we will only accept students at least 12 years of age.
Student will be guided through the fundamental aspects of documentary filmmaking, including researching skills and camera angles, footage selection as well as editing. Students are encouraged to creates a particular story, viewpoint, message or experience.
SAT – ONLINE JR 3D 10+ yrs (Fall 2021)
3d Characters of Animation
This term we are going to do something special. It’s not going to be easy but it will most certainly be rewarding. If you love the 3D films of Disney, Pixar or Dreamworks studios then you probably love the amazing Characters they make. In this series of workshops our #Jr3D artist will learn how to make characters. We will start off with something a little easier and then move towards the more difficult human characters. Students will learn box modelling and sculpting in combination to assemble the characters. This is a highly useful, real world skill, that has a variety of applications in film, game design and animation. If students are feeling confident we will also look into characters from Anime.
While this is an entry level to subject we expect students with little computer experience may have difficulty so we recommend if your new to be extra patient with yourself while you acquire the knowledge. We are here to help …
