Logos and Flyers
Do you have the eye? Do you want to make your own graphics, logos and flyers for your business. Maybe you its your side hustle and it needs some cool content that you don’t want to pay someone to make.
In this 4 week workshop you will be introduced to Affinity Designer. The alternative to Adobe Illustrator that doesn’t follow a subscription model. Affinity designer is every bit as capable of making and working with industry level graphical content. https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/

THU – JR 3D Artist 10+ yrs IPAD (Winter 2023)
Robot Creative Lab
This is an exciting first for us at Jr Art Lab. This term in 3d Robot Lab we are inviting a Mum or Dad to jump in on the lesson and learn about blender and 3D printing as a bonus. We also recommend that you have access to a 3D printer at home or you can also book time at your local library or school. We will be looking into hard surface modelling (specifically robots) and designing a few of our own robots toward the end of the term. Get that sketchbook out and keep your ideas safe for future execution. Students will learn the basics of blender and 3D printing. No engineering will be included for robot function. We just do the art stuff.. After students have a handle on the creative process and software we will provide guidance on self initiated artworks toward the end of the term.
This term we will also be preparing our robots for printing so its great if you have a 3D printer at home or access to one at your school or library.

So you want to cut your head off the school photo and put it on Godzillas body and use the wings from a bat and turn it into a duvet cover. Well we can help you do that. This term in photo remixer we learn how to work in Affinity photo to composite all kinds of surreal masterpieces. Learning to photoshop images is a staple for almost any career in the arts these days. Photo-bashing some quick concept art or making your bosses website pic teeth a bit whiter.
Students will need a copy of Affinity Photo https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/ available for iPad or Desktop.

So Halloween is your favourite holiday of the year. You love all things spooky and creepy. Your sketchbook is the evolution of Dr. Frankenstein in 2023. This term we will look into all that horrible nasty Adams family kind of madness and experiment in our lab creating a whole new race of creatures to fright the sheet right off you bed. Students will learn about digital painting methods and develop their creepy creature artistic process.
Students will learn how to draw and paint in PROCREATE using an apple pencil or stylus. Students must have their own iPad and copy of the drawing software from the app store.

THU – JR Photographer 13 – 17 yrs (Winter 2023)
In this term students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Students can expect to learn how to make a correct exposure, shoot in challenging lighting situations, make strong compositions. This course will also include some photography hacks. Student will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical photography knowledge.
As winter approaches, this term will explore Snow Photography. Let’s summon the magic of winter wonderland. Winter is also an ideal time to shoot minimalist photography. Last but not least, we will use Abstract Photography as a method to express ideas and emotions.
