FRI – JR Designer 13-17yrs (Fall 2022)
This term students will learn how to make designs inspired by animals. Animals are amazing and their diversity as a subject matter is challenging. Students will learn all the basic functions of vector design using AFFINITY DESIGNER using a desktop or laptop computer. From Pokémon to realistic animals its all possible with dedication and passion. After students have a handle on design, vector production process and software we will provide guidance on self initiated artworks toward the end of the term.
THU – JR Designer 8-12yrs (Fall 2022)

WED – JR iPad Artist 3D 10+ (Fall 2022)
This term students will be guided on how to sculpt animals using Nomad Sculpt for iPad. This iPad software is pretty sophisticated and capable of amazing things in the skilled users hands. Check out #NomadSculpt. Specifically this term we will look into animals and their anatomy. Learning the anatomy of animals will help guide us how to produce more realistic looking forms in our sculpting. Where do muscles cause bulges in the tigers legs. How big is a Rhino’s butt… hmm don’t tell me never thought about it. Students will need access to a iPad to join this session and a digital drawing stylus or Apple Pencil is recommended to get the most out of this experience.

Animals are amazing and their diversity as a subject matter is challenging. If we learn a bit about the anatomy of animals we can learn how to create forms, shadow and light with more knowledge. This term students will learn to study, paint and draw a variety of animals and wildlife. Students will be introduced to various wildlife artists from across the globe. Students will learn how to draw and paint in Affinity Photo using a laptop or desktop computer and a drawing tablet. After students have a handle on the painting process and software we will provide guidance on self initiated artworks toward the end of the term.
NB: You must have a copy of Affinity Photo and a drawing tablet to join this session.
iPad artist/Procreate has its own session.
THU – JR iPad Artist 2D (Fall 2022) 8-17yrs
Animals are amazing and their diversity as a subject matter is challenging. If we study a bit about the anatomy of animals we can learn how to create forms, shadow and light with more knowledge. This term students will learn to study, paint and draw a variety of animals and wildlife. Students will be introduced to various wildlife artists from across the globe. Students will learn how to draw and paint in PROCREATE using an apple pencil or stylus. After students have a handle on the painting process and software we will provide guidance on self initiated artworks toward the end of the term.
NB: You must have a copy of PROCREATE and a iPad to join this session.
MON – JR Digital Artist 8 – 12 yrs (Fall 2022)

This course is designed to replicate the scriptwriting process of the film industry. Students will learn how to write and edit screenplays for film and television across different genres. The online classrooms are styled after industry writing rooms with table-reads. This course will also cover knowledge including cinematography and storyboarding.
Table-read process will be recorded and uploaded to JR Art Lab YouTube channel.

THU – JR Photographer 13 – 17 yrs (Fall 2022)
In this term students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. Students can expect to learn how to make a correct exposure, shoot in challenging lighting situations, make strong compositions. This course will also include some photography hacks. Student will get plenty of hands-on experience and practical photography knowledge.
As Fall approaches, this term will explore Natural Photography, with a focus on Fall colours. We will also bring back our iconic Halloween photoshoot and Christmas Lights photography.
MON – JR Photographer 8 – 12 yrs (Winter 2023)
In this term students will focus on an introduction to digital photography. As winter approaches, this term will explore Snow Photography. Let’s summon the magic of winter wonderland. Winter is also an ideal time to shoot minimalist photography. Last but not least, we will use Abstract Photography as a method to express ideas and emotions.
